Bogie wash systems and robotic bogie wash cabins

Our strategic partner Aquafrisch offers different solutions for the washing of bogies: manual cabin, automated or robotized.

Given the dirt that bogies can present, consisting mainly of sand, grease and carbon deposits on the brake discs, our solutions for their washing have in common the use of high pressure water.

To wash low quantities of bogies, we recommend the manual option, using a hydrocleaner. To wash large quantities of bogies, we recommend the automatic option, in which a gantry equipped with high pressure nozzles and rotating heads runs along the bogie.

In cases where bogies have high pressure sensitive areas, we recommend the use of robots, where special washing paths can be programmed to avoid sensitive areas.

The washing equipment for bogies allows programs with hot water and at different pressures, also integrating water recovery systems including that coming from the vapors generated during the washing, which condenses and redirects for reuse.
The entire control system of the equipment is carried out by means of a simple graphic control touch screen.

Automatic Bogie Wash Cabins

If the number of bogies to be washed is high, we recommend the automatic option, consisting of a cabin made of stainless steel in which washing is carried out by means of a mobile arc fitted with high pressure nozzles and rotating heads. Depending on the customer’s requirements, the cabin may include one or two doors for access or exit of the bogie.

Due to the high degree of incrustation of the bogies, in addition to the application of detergent and high pressure water, it is necessary that the water is hot.For this, we include storage tank and water heating, either by electrical resistances or by diesel burner.

We include a system for recycling water and recovering the steam generated during washing. Depending on the quality of the mains water, we can include a decalcification system.The control system allows you to configure different washing programs, each with a different duration. It includes a touch screen for simple and intuitive use.

Manual bogie wash plants

The manual bogie washing system consists of a cabin made of polypropylene or stainless steel equipped with an access for the bogie and an access door for the staff. The washing is done manually using a high pressure washer. We include steam recovery system generated during the wash, which is condensed and recirculated for reuse. The manual bogie wash cabin is ideal for washing low quantities of bogies.

Robotic bogie Wash cabins

This is an automatic washing cabin, but unlike the conventional arc system, it incorporates an industrial robot that carries a lance fed at high pressure.

The inclusion of the robot makes it possible to specifically control the bogie’s washing areas: not only is consumption and time optimised, but also the bogie’s electrical or electronic zones can be avoided by means of the robot’s particular trajectory programming. We supply the robots on self-propelled platforms.

We include a system for recycling water and recovering the steam generated during washing. Depending on the quality of the mains water, we can include a decalcification system.

The control system includes touch screen for simple and intuitive use, allowing you to choose between different washing programs, depending on the duration or washing areas. For each program, the paths are programmed by Aquafrisch.
